My love is like a small river

My love is like a small river
It sways and moves thru you
My love is like a small river
Drifting away from you
Count the times I’m with it
sometimes see it too
Call the arms that reach for
sway and turn with you
The way it calls is true
I try and tell you something
that speaks in a line or two
Talk to the winter swimming
Its cold
its moving too
Your words they linger always
Your simple and strong and true
Your smile it brings me sunshine
Sometimes when I’m not with you
My love, it’s sometimes with you
These tears that drip on sidewalks
They drain on subways too
The rain that sings
in sunshine
walks all over you
The words they’re easy for me
When I come in touch with you
